IMSA broadcasts 2023 IMSA Esports World Championship

The Worldwide Motor Sports activities Affiliation (IMSA) has joined forces with sim racing occasion organiser Digital Competitors Organisation (VCO) and sim racing platform iRacing.

Because of this, the three events will host the second season of the IMSA Esports World Championship.

The inaugural IMSA Esports World Championship occurred in 2021 and attracted quite a lot of sim racing rosters resembling Staff Redline, Williams Esports and Apex Racing Staff.

In response to a launch, the competitors will allow sim racers and groups to ‘develop shut working relationships’ with the producers competing within the real-world IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

IMSA’s second season of the championship commences on November fifth on the iRacing platform, which isn’t any stranger to esports.

In 2022, it joined forces with NACE Starleague to launch the eNASCAR College iRacing Series giving aspiring sim racers from over 500 North American schools and universities a chance to compete.

Sim racing continues to draw names from real-world motorsport. In October 2023, Indycar champion Tony Kanaan opened a sim racing facility in Indianapolis offering drivers a spot to compete in a variety of personal occasions and iRacing’s in depth vary of particular occasions.
