Evil Geniuses CS:GO will get Main lifeline after passport points open up Americas RMR spot

It’s been two straight days of celebration within the Evil Geniuses CS:GO camp after what’s been a dismal begin to the 2023 marketing campaign. Only a few hours faraway from their academy roster pulling off a surprising upset, the principle roster has been gifted one remaining likelihood to redeem themselves and attain the last-ever CS:GO Main.

On the morning of April 1, BLAST formally introduced that the Detonate roster had to surrender its spot on the BLAST Americas RMR as a result of passport points stopping the workforce from submitting a legitimate roster. Per a Dust2 report from the day prior, two gamers from Detonate had been unable to attend as a result of passport points and a medical emergency. Detonate must use a second substitute to subject a full roster, which isn’t allowed below the Valve rulebook.

That report claimed that EG would take the spot within the case of Detonate forfeiting, and BLAST confirmed that of their April 1 announcement, as EG completed simply behind Detonate on the NA RMR closed qualifier. EG has accepted the invite to play in Monterrey, Mexico, in accordance with the BLAST announcement, and can take Detonate’s seeding and already listed matchups.

This last-second invite is a lifeline for EG, who’ve been on a poor efficiency streak for all of 2023. The group’s CS:GO division has drawn a lot criticism from the neighborhood for its poor performances, together with the workforce’s ninth-place end on the NA RMR closed qualifier that might have meant missing the RMR completely if not for this last-second replace.

The second likelihood on the RMR is the second straight day that includes a uncommon constructive consequence for EG CS:GO. The evening earlier than, the EG Black academy roster pulled off a surprising upset over Brazil’s prime workforce in FURIA on the BLAST Premier Spring American Showdown, giving them an opportunity to succeed in the Spring Closing if they’ll win two extra.

The EG primary roster will face Imperial Esports within the first spherical of the Americas RMR.
